Good day Fellow donors

This campaign i am launching is coming from my heart and i will elaborate the circumstances surrounding this. I am South African citizen who has joined my partner in Mozambique as of September 2017. I have never been to Mozambique and off course was ecstatic when the opportunity arose for me to join my loved one.

I have always heard of Malaria, never experienced it before or had much knowledge surrounding it until i moved here and was actually bitten by the female mosquito which is the actual carrier. My first experience of contracting Malaria was an experience i will never forget, I thought i was going to die, i have never felt this way and had to get treatment ASAP. So going to the private clinic and getting the tests done cost me about 4000 meticais ( $65 ) and i still had to buy the treatment from the pharmacy which was an extra 2000 meticais ( $32 ). So what baffled my mind was that if the services are so expensive how do the local Mozambicans survive. Thus i had to take a trip to one of the villages outside Beira, where it seems they are the forgotten ones, where no help is available to them as they stay in the bush and the head of house working on farms to provide on a daily basis very basic food staple.

Statistics prove that the number of deaths caused by malaria in Mozambique has increased from 696 in 2016 to 754 in 2017 and more currently, an eight per cent increase, as shown by the latest figures from the health authorities. In the same period there were 4673604 reported cases of malaria up from 3803209 registered last year.

Local / Government Hospitals are too far and not in reach for these villagers and if they have the means to get on a "jopella" it costs them 50 meticais ( $0.80 ) to and from hospital, most cant afford it so walking is the best option for them. Most dont reach and turn back.

My appeal thus would be to help me help them. If we can make a difference in one village, the rest will follow. I want to purchase self help kits to distribute to these villagers and empower them to test themselves for Malaria, i also want to raise funds to get good quality treatment to them as getting the appropriate and correct medication can save lives.

Malaria kills and I want to make a difference! Please help me reach this ongoing goal.
