A chance to make a difference. In between finishing my A levels and leaving for University, I have taken the opportunity to travel to India in November and Ghana in March (as part of a gap year) to take part in volunteer programmes run by PMGY (Plan My Gap Year).
In November I will be travelling to India for 3 weeks to take part in a medical volunteering programme within which I will work alongside a medical professional in a range of settings including slum outreach programmes and clinics to help administer basic health checks. I will also be able to combine this programme with a disabled children's volunteering programme within which I will help provide care for disabled children alongside professionals.
In March I will be travelling to Ghana for 6 weeks to take part in a volunteering programme in a Children's Orphanage which will include a range of tasks including helping with english, playing games and basic care for the children alongside the staff working at the orphanage.
Both of these trips allow me to make a difference to some of those who most need it and I am very thankful for all of the support I have received already!
