Back in 2009, I was injured playing soccer. This injury caused a condition called Lymphedema where my right leg began to swell up to almost 3 times the size of a normal leg. This makes life very difficult as I cannot wear long pants, find shoes that fit (since my foot swells as well) and it affects confidence. With the condition, if left untreated, also has a chance of forcing me to have my leg amputated.

There is a treatment I can go for, that, although not permanent, can help me learnt to manage it and get the condition under control to the point where I can live a normal life. This treatment however is very expensive, as it requires special compression garments as well. I do not earn enough to go through the treatment and if I were to save, which I have been doing, the garments will wear out before I will be able to save again, meaning it will all be for nothing. Unfortunately medical aids will not help either as it is seen as cosmetic.
