Make-A-Wish challenge trekking Machu Picchu

Hi! My name is Demi and I'm raising money in aid of Make-A-Wish Foundation UK.

I am a student at the University of Gloucestershire and I aim to raise around £3000 by July 1st 2016. The organisation 'Choose a challenge' and Make-A-Wish have teamed up for us university students who would like to raise money for charity whilst getting sponsored to do something incredibly challenging. Our university's challenge is hiking Machu Picchu in August this Summer, which in my opinion looks super hard I mean, I get out of breath climbing the stairs every day - I'm not kidding. Of the money raised, 50% goes directly towards the charity which enables wishes to be granted to children and young people facing life threatening conditions. The other 50% covers the expenses of the challenge. This charity is personal to me as I benefited from a 'wish' in 2008 when I was suffering with a rare form of hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer). I really just want to give something back to the charity, and help the next generation of children and young people who are suffering with similar conditions as I did. I believe that by fundraising enough to help even just one child, I have made a difference to their life, and if forcing myself up a painfully high (to me) mountain will do that, then that's what I shall do.
