Mailyn’s battle with Chronic Kidney disease

Thank you for being here and for visiting our gogetfunding page to learn more about my sister, Mailyn's diagnosis.

Over a year ago, Mailyn had bruises on her legs which we thought just because she is having a menstruation, she then started having shortness of breathing and fatigue, thus, consulted a Doctor. Laboratory test were taken and the result was very high in Creatine (1000+). We were referred to a Nephrologist, and met Dr. Anson in Makati Medical Center. Another test were taken, but same result. She was diagnosed with a Chronic kidney disease secondary to Chronic Glomerulonephritis. Dr. Anson advised for an immediate Hemodialysis treatment. Central Venus Cathether and Arteriovenus fistula were done. Advised for a Hemodialysis treatment 2x/week.

With this sickness, Mailyn's life had been in danger many times as she's been hospitalized and in ICU due to complications. To support, she's taking oral medications as maintenance for Hypertension, Uric acid, cholesterol, hyperkalemia.

Early August this year, Mailyn notices an enlarging violaceous mass on her left arm where the AV fistula is. Consulted Dr. Chua, a Vascular Surgeon. Was assessed and found pseudoaneurysm. She was still able to comply to Hemodialysis treatment, but, was in pain everytime. Thus, advised to undergo removal of pseudoaneurysm and Arteriovenus graft creation. Was admitted on August 21, 2020.

Prior to the operation, a clearance from her Pulmo, Nephro, Cardio has to be secured, thus, finding underlying symptoms that needed to be cured first. After all the procedures performed, she's been cleared to proceed with the operation: Placement of Central Venous Catheter, Direct repair of aneurysm, and Bypass graft. While healing process takes time, she's been strong, positive, and recovering her strength at Makati Medical Center.

The money raised in this platform will help us cover Hospital bills, Medical bills, and to sustain her Hemodialysis treatment.
