Campaign Story
I am Wan Muhammad Sofwan, currently in my fourth year pursuing my degree in Arabic Language and Communication at Islamic Science University of Malaysia (USIM). My university has a mobility program called Global Islamic Students Outreach (GISO). Back in 2016, my group and I as the program director decided to join this program and we finally chose Kampot, a province in Cambodia as the place for our mobility program. This is our program information:
Title: Mahabbah Travelogue to Kampot, Cambodia
Date: 27th October - 31st October 2019
Commitee: 20 students and one liaison officer
Schools involved:
- A primary school and a kindergarten in Prey Thnong rural area
- A primary school in Mak Phrang rural area
- A primary school in Triek rural area
All of them are managed by Dana Madrasah Kemboja, a Malaysian non-profit organization focusing on helping Cambodia Muslim community education and activities.
The activities we conduct will be solely focusing on the students' education through science exploration, English and Arabic basic education and also basic Islamic learning. We target the activities will be joined by 40 students from Kampot primary school and 30 students from other two schools and the kindergarten.
The fund raised will be used for the equipments needed for the program and to support our group's needs in Cambodia which are our accomodation, transportation and food. We use our own money for the flight tickets. Just in case if there is any balance from the fund after fully used for the purposes, it will be fully given to Dana Madrasah Kemboja or Kampot community, none of it will be taken by our group.
