I'm a senior year old student of geology at the University of Chile who's been working and developing projects at the Andean Geothermal Center of Excellence for a few years by now and I'm currently developing my final career project under the guidance of its director, Diego Morata.
Also, I have recently applied and got accepted at the MSc. programme of Sustainable Energy at the Iceland School of Energy of the Reykjavik University, one of the most important schools when it comes to geothermics that allows specialization at this area, as well as in energetic policy development.
I made this application because I'm convinced that the potential of this form of energy is substantial in Chile as well as in many other places of the world, and that in the context of climate change emergency, the development of this kind of clean and unlimited energy should be a priority for the decision makers of every goverment, specially on those countries, like Chile, that has a series of geologic conditions that makes them ideal places for its usage.
I have been searching for alternatives of funding for these two years of studying and living in Iceland that the programme means, among other things I contacted the Iceland consulate in Chile and got dissapointed of the lack of colaboration between our two countries, I looked up to the scholarships of the UN, the OEA, UNESCO, Santander Bank, the Reykjavik University and many other institutions with scholaships programmes, and none of these are fit to this destination or while being native of Chile.
I also tried contacting the private corporations of the geothermic world from Iceland and Chile in an attempt to reach some kind of agreement of part time working, researching, and compromising my thesis project of the MSc. with a case of study that might be of their interst, among other possibilities, in exchange for the funds required, but got only negatives or no answers at all.
So, after a lot of suggestions I got when I made my situation public, I decided to open up a fund rising, I'm not going to give up and I'll do anything within my reach to make this dream come true, not just because it is what I want, but because I'm certain that what geothermic has to offer to Chile's development is worth the effort.
Speaking about the specifics, the total amount needed for both the tuition fee and the financial support that I need to prove to the Iceland inmigration departament in order to get the student's visa, is aproximatedly of 63.000 US$. And the first deadline is set at march 19th for when I need to have payed the acceptance fee of 650 US$ to ensure my spot at the promgramme, after that, the rest must be ideally raised before travelling to Iceland at the begining of july (the programme starts at july 19th).
Any donation, for small it might be, is significant and will get me closer to the finish line, so I thank every single person that helps etiher with funds or making this enterprise of mine a little more visible.
I deeply thank you all.

Update: the Iceland School of Energy has decided to grant me a partial scholarship for the tuition fee and to asign me a part-time job once I'm there, so for now I just need the money needed to pass through inmigration, which means something around 10.000 US$
