Magic to the World Champs Fund

My name is Maciej and I am a floorball player. Thanks to my 'on rink' performance (or maybe because of a difficult to pronounce name) my team mates and friends call me 'Magic'.

I was born and raised in Poland where I first started playing floorball. After living in the UK for the last 8 years and applying for a British citizenship, this year I was honoured to have been selected for the Great Britain Floorball National Team.

Floorball is an innovative sport that is quickly spreading across the world. It's a fast paced indoor sport that blends the greatest elements of ice hockey with features of other team sports. More info can be found here.

Sport is my passion and I've recently graduated Sports&Coaching studies at the Brookes University in Oxford. I am an active coach, running after-school sport classes in one of the schools in Oxford. I am also co-running Oxford University Floorball Club and working on the development of floorball in the UK. Most recently I am also involved in developing floorball coaching courses across the UK.

All of those activities are fully voluntary and time-consuming but it's worth the effort!

I was lucky enough to have been selected for the GB Floorball Team for the 2014 World Floorball Championships Qualification to be held in Nijmegen, Holland from the 27th of January to 1st of February.

Every member of the GB Team has to fund his participation including flights, accommodation, equipment and uniforms. The estimated costs of the tournament in Holland is £600 per team member. You can imagine that for a young graduate who's working part-time, this cost is on the dear side.

I'd be so grateful for any assistance you can provide so I can represent Britain!
