Campaign Story
After a global pandemic changed my plans to go to Zimbabwe and work on a private wildlife reserve (hence the "Maggie saves the animals" in the url), I'm now to teach in a low-income school in ARUSHA, TANZANIA through International Volunteer HQ! I have always wanted to spend time volunteering in Africa and I finally have the chance.
For two weeks in August 2021, I will be living and working in a homestay in Arusha doing focused teaching, alongside local teachers, in busy classrooms ranging from 30-80 students. I could end up helping with any range of subjects in an under-resourced community. Students there may start school at just age 3 and usually stop going once they are teenagers, leaving to help support their families. I am so very excited to help with their access to education and learn about their community and culture!

Instead of volunteering on a private game preserve in Zimbabwe in August 2020, I'm now teaching in Tanzania in August 2021! Luckily, that gives me more time to get funds raised and gives the world some time to get healthier.

Hello! It is so cool that you are planning to go on a volunteer project, me too! I just have one question and I hope you can help me. On this page of "Gogetfunding", the part that says put your "buisness description" either on PayPal or stripe. Did you had special permission of not to put something there? Or did you put your parent’s business? I am telling you this because I’m planning on going volunteering too but I don’t have a business so I don’t really know what to put. I hope you can help me. Thank you!
