Campaign Story
I attend Highfield Church in Southampton, where I am at university, and as part of our mission as a church, a group of us are heading to Magaluf this summer on mission. Magaluf may not seem like the most obvious place to go on mission, or have the typical profile of a country which is crying out for help because it is not in the third world or suffering from a lot of poverty, nor do I fit the profile of the standard Magaluf visitor. However, its needs are different but just as worthy. While we are there, we will be engaging to the people by being a presence on the beaches during the day giving out water and food and during the evenings we will be ministering to those who are going on nights out.
Matthew 28:19 says: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations”. God has a heart for every person on earth, and He has been moulding mine over the past couple of years to have compassion and love for all His people – especially the ones who I find hardest to love. I imagine this will be an experience and a half which will be not only impacting for the team who go there, but hopefully (and more importantly) for the people we will encounter too.
