Mafikeng High School – Matric Class of ’02

The class of 2002 have come together in support of our Alma mater Mafikeng High school, to raise funds in an effort to support its dedicated staff but mostly its students and we request your support in this regard.

Your generous donation will go to the below initiatives which the school has highlighted as their main priorities:

1. Installing solar electricity panels for the computer room

2. 6 Data Projectors for the classrooms

3. Repair of the tarmac in front of the school including the netball courts

Mafikeng high school has a long history of education in Mafikeng since the 1900s. For 90 years many students have walked its corridors, sang the school song, played in its fields and sat in the classrooms with a commitment to their education. We the class of 2002 are particularly appreciative of the efforts of the staff and the pivotal role that the school has played in our lives.

The many lessons learned are most valuable as we have grown older and look back. Lessons not only of the science, languages, or philosophies but of strength in times of strife, Compassion towards our differences, resilience in the face of adversity but most importantly to “Seize the day”; “Ne cede”. To be brave enough to seize the opportunities in today and make them count not just for ourselves but for those that come after us.

Your contribution will go a long way to changing a life of a young South African from a small town called Mafikeng who may one day look back and say “ I seized the day, I took the opportunity and my future is so much better for it and it has paved the way for so many others to say the same.”
