Madison’s People to People Trip

Madison Finley has been selected as a People to People Student Ambassador. She will be traveling to France, Italy, and Greece next summer as part of a delegation from Northwest Ohio. She is 14 years old and is an eighth grader at Eastwood Middle School. In addition to traveling to well-known sites like the Eiffel Tower, Venice, and the Coliseum, she will have the opportunity for a home stay with a family in Italy, meet with Italian government officials, learn from nuns at a working convent, rappel down a 100-ft. fortress wall, do community service in a Greek community, and visit a local Greek school.

Here's what Madison has to say about her upcoming trip:

I am most looking forward to visiting Greece. The place had captured my attention when I studied ancient Greece in school. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to go to the Parthenon and see Pompeii as well as many other incredible sights. I will also have the benefit of participating in the Full-On Experience. With Full-On, I will test myself as I rappel down a tower wall and face other personal challenges. From this experience, I hope to learn about distinct global cultures and gain a broader sense of the world around me. Maybe I’ll even learn a little about myself, too.
