Madelynn is my 19 year old recent high school graduate. She was diagnosed 25 months ago with glioblastoma. The placement and size left her no options for surgical removal,the doctors at Children's were afraid to even do a biopsy. They originally gave her a 8-10 month prognosis with radiation starting right away, to be followed by avastin and temodar, the standard treatment for gbm. We have been through countless sticks and pokes, the loss of friends, family, and things in general; the heartache of bad test/lab results, feeding tubes, hair loss, and general disappointment at this giant curveball of our life. If there was ever a girl that deserved more than looking at her worried mother?#39;s face every day, it's this one. This whole year she has taken everything in stride, never a day where she wasn't planning for what's next in her life, places she wants to travel, concerts she wants to attend. She is here to win!
