Madaresgold Horse Rescue is a state non-profit run organization dedicated to the unwanted and forgotten horses of Utah and surrounding areas.

We were founded in Aug. of 2009 and have recently moved to Erda, Utah located in Tooele County.

We specialize in rehabilitating starved and abused horses, giving them a second chance to learn to love, trust and once again be healthy, after, they are placed up for adoption to approved homes.

We have several horses that are now healthy and ready to find their new homes and a couple still under rehabilitation.

But winter is upon us and this is our busiest time of year, this is the time when we start getting a lot of calls for owner surrenders and calls or emails on the horse next door that isn't eating.

We have worked with the state Attorney General's office in assitsing us to help starved and abused horses, as well as a couple of our states Animal Control offices and Sheriff's Depts. We work closely with our vet Dr. Lyle Barbour at South Mountain Equine.

If you would like to assist us in our vet bill you may do so by call South Mountain Equines office at 801-446-3046 we will still enter you in the drawing.

We rely on small fundraisers we do, volunteer help, and adoption fees to take care of all of these horses, but most of all we rely on you, the public, to help us help them.

As we would like to give something back and it is only a very small token of our appreciation, each person who donates, we will enter your name on tickets to put into a drawing for an 8x10 framed photo of a rescue horse of your choice. If you are local and would like your photo taken with that horse, that is also welcome.

October 13th, we will draw one lucky ticket = One...$5.00 donation for the framed photo. But we will keep this link up past this date for further assistance.

These are the ticket prices for your donations.

8 Tickets = $25.00 Donation

20 Tickets = $50.00 Donation

50 Tickets = $100.00 Donation

Thank you in advance, MGHR

  • Thank you all for your support, in a comment above said, your dollar may be the one between a horse being saved or left to die. That is more than the truth, you all are in our hearts. Thank you again for helping Utah's forgotten horses. Sincerely, Kendra Munden and the staff at MGHR
