Sadly Madagascar's environment is under threat from deforestation and illegal poaching. Madagascar has lost 90% of its forest and as a result the lemur populations have largely declined. There are currently 103 species of lemur on the island, however the future of the species is uncertain as lemurs are now the most endangered group of vertebrates in the world.

The project that we will be involved in is arranged by an organisation called Frontier, the program has been designed to help conserve the species and to increase populations. The project involves carrying out population surveys and implementing new ways to teach the communities how to conserve the animals.

I have been invited to join the project and will have the chance to help these animals however, we must fundraise for this opportunity. The donations that are made go towards enabling the project to take place, as well as helping me to get there. This is a once in a lifetime experience, and visiting Madagascar has been a goal of mine for a few years now. So please help me to make this journey by donating as much as you can.
I will also be doing some fundraising events at a later date. Thank you for your support.
