MA in Renewable Energies in Palestine

My name is Thair Abuarqob I am 29 years old, living in Ramallah, Palestine. I studied plant production and protection in Hebron University, and graduated in 2013 and was awarded with a scholarship for my final project. I also have a diploma in Hebrew language studies, I’ve taken a few NVC courses, and also had training in media and journalism from atlas center. I completed a course in water retention and landscape design in the eco-village Tamera, Portugal. I continued my studies in permaculture, biogas reactors and solar energy system in Tulkarem, Palestine. Alongside my studies, I kept my love for football and all through middle school and high school played in a local football team in Dura club.

I am an optimist; I believe that in order to have a future without wars, we must be able to offer clean and healthy food and water systems.

I have a dream: I wish to have a non violent relationship with mother earth. As I am a Sufi, I don’t believe in violence, not just between us humans, but also between us and mother earth. Because of this I would like to studyfor a masters degree in Renewable Energies and water treatment in Hebron University, and expand my knowledge, in order to be able to increase the plant production on earth, by offering healthy solutions, using Biological Pest Control, instead of using Chemical Pest Control, so that humanity may benefit from a healthy Eco system.

I choose this specific subject because I hope to be able to create a healthy ecological environment, where instead of creating a natural imbalance, which is harming both humans and other organisms; we can reverse this and create healthier life styles.

As I believe all aspects of our lives are interconnected, alongside my dream to study ecology and renewable resources, I wish also to share my knowledge in Non violent communication, and raise awareness on how these two aspects of life are strongly connected for humanity to be healthy and full of love. As I have experienced a tremendous amount of suffering and hardship while being imprisoned for 2 ½ years, as a political prisoner in an Israeli military prison, I have chosen to break the cycle of hatred following my wish to create a brighter future for both Palestinians and Israelis.

I am fortunate enough to have a very warm and loving family. I was brought up by a very nurturing mother, who dedicated her life to her children. I have 4 brothers and 3 sisters and a wonderful loving father, who is a farmer.

Even though I come from a very loving family, having a lot of siblings and my father working as a farmer, my family is not able to support my high financial tuition. Living in Palestine and receiving a very low monthly income, making it harder for me to be able to save money for my studies. This is creating a sense of frustration in me, and therefore I am asking for financial aid.

I hope that you will open your hearts and help me actualize my dream. As it is my life dream to reach my goal: creating better environment for a better humanity, it goes without saying that if I won’t be able to achieve this goal because of financial reasons, I will be extremely disappointed. And yet, it will not stop me from continuing! Since I truly believe that this cause is in the interest of all humanity, and therefore you might want to take part in this, for the benefit it can bring to all of us.

I can’t describe how hard it is to show my weakness and vulnerability to explain that I have no money to study, but I am full of passion and I have a strong will and belief that I can make it. I hope and pray that you will open your hearts for this cause and make it come true.

The total cost of my tuition is 15,000$. In this campaign, I am asking for support in my 1st semester which is 3800$. With this said, I am feeling very committed to my studies, and I will be happy to update my donors and supporters along the way, in case they are interest in receiving more details about my learning process.
