Lyla Grace Santos was born on March 18, 2014 at Darnell Medical Center at Ft. Hood Army Base. Shortly after being born, Lyla started having problems breathing. After many test were done on her, the doctors diagnosed with a heart defect. Lyla was born with her aortic arch was too small and was not allowing her blood to pump through her heart normally. She was then airlifted to the University Hospital in San Antonio. Once she was a week old, Lyla had to have open heart surgery to repair her aortic arch with a donor tissue. She then had to stay a month at the University Hospital in the NICU to recover.      Lyla is now almost two months old and yeasterday on May 8, 2014, she went in for her check-up and her doctor discovered that Lyla's mitral valve is now not functioning properly. Lyla once again had to be transported from Ft. Hood, Texas to University Hopsital in San Antonio. Lyla's now have stated that she has to have open heart surgery once again to replace her mitral valve. She will also have to stay once again for a month or longer afterwards in NICU for recovery.      Lyla's father is Sgt. Matthew Santos in the United States Army. Sgt. Santos has done two tours in Iraq and a tour in Afghanistan. Sgt. Santos does have TriCare Insurance that covers all the hospital bills that have accumulated with Lyla's care, but the military does not however cover for Sgt. Santos and his wife Amy Santos expenses. Since Lyla is having to stay in NICU nither one of them are allowed to stay at the hospital with her. They are having to stay at a hotel close to the hospital as long as they are in San Antonio. They are having to cover hotel, gas, and food for them to stay with their daughter. Sgt. Santos does not make enough money from the military to support their monthly bills and now all extra expenses. Amy will be unable to return to work due to Lyla's condition.      Please HELP with making sure the last thing that these parents of this precious gift from God, and these parent's do not have to worry about money at this time. Anything will help at this time, a $1, $5, $10. Every dime helps and every dime will go towards their expenses while they stay at University Hospital. Please help this young family with donations and prayers for Lyla Grace Santos. X X X X X
