Please help us to raise the remaining funds of $178 to assist with food parcels for struggling families in the village of Qurna near the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank of Luxor, Egypt. This area relies heavily on tourist trade with most families being employed by the alabaster factories that sell to the tourists. Our goal is to raise $1000 by Friday 30 August and we are almost there.

Tourist trade has been little since the 2011 Revolution and now with the recent renewal of Egypt going back to the streets and ousting President Morsy on July 3, 2013, there is an even greater need for support for the poorest of families. Egyptians earn very little so in these troubled times those who were already struggling to feed there families are now finding they are without even the money to purchase flour to make thier bread. Many of these families do not earn a salary and there is no government financial relief fund.

LUXOR Light has a volunteer healing clinic in this area where healing is offered to the local Egyptians by the students of the LUXOR Light Ascension programs. The healing clinic is purely energetically funded where students are asked to give of themselves and no money is exchanged in either direction. We have now decided to extend our project to help at the level of providing food parcels to those who are so desperately in need. This takes our project to the next level and we hope that we can provide help to at least some of these families in Qurna, West Bank Luxor.

Por favor ayúdenos a recaudar fondos para ayudar con paquetes de alimentos para aproximadamente 100 familias pobres en la aldea de Qurna cerca del Valle de los Reyes,en la Ribera Occidental de Luxor, Egipto. Esta zona depende en gran medida del comercio turístico ya que la mayoría de las familias trabajan en las fábricas de alabastro que venden a los turistas.

El comercio turístico ha bajado mucho desde la Revolución de 2011 y ahora con la reciente renovación de Egipto que se remonta a las calles y al derrocar al presidente Morsyel 3 de julio de 2013, existe una necesidad aún mayor de apoyo a las familias más pobres. Los egipcios ganan muy poco por lo que en estos tiempos difíciles ya estabanluchando para alimentar a las familias, pero se encuentran ahora con que no tienen tan sólo el dinero para comprar la harina para hacer el pan. Muchas de estas familias no ganan un sueldo y no hay fondos de ayuda financiera del gobierno.

LUXOR Light tiene una clínica de salud de voluntariado en este ámbito donde se ofrece la curación de los egipcios locales por los estudiantes de los programas de LUXORLuz de Ascensión. La curación clínica se financia exclusivamente con energía y tiempo que se pide a los alumnos que den de sí mismos y no se intercambia dinero de ninguna forma. Hemos decidido ahora ampliar el proyecto para ayudar a nivel de prestación de paquetes de alimentos a los que están desesperadamente necesitados.Esperamos traer un alivio inmediato a través de paquetes de alimentos y ayudar a la creación de pequeñas empresas para las mujeres. Esto lleva a nuestro proyecto al siguiente nivel y esperamos que podamos ofrecer ayuda a por lo menos algunas de estas familias en Qurna, West Bank Luxor.
