Hi, my name is Mathew Legault, and I make food day in and day out. I am a hard working Canadian with some great ideas and I want to raise money to open my own business and to bring more great food to the surrounding area. From breakfast to lunch my goal will be set up a shop close to the Centretown of Ottawa ON which has a high demand for lunch. Funding as little as 1$ can assist with getting the food truck on the road.

Business Overview

The food truck industry is a fast growing industry, providing a level in which talented chefs can enter the restaurant business with reduced risk, an affordable entry, and a way to get their name out to the public.

Matz Lunch & Bunch will provide brunch options from morning up to 10:30am, which then will begin switch from brunch to lunch, officially beginning the lunch at 11am. My reasoning behind the food changing is to provide both morning and lunch meals to our customers and by providing great quality food during one meal, this will encourage them to also try out the other.

Bread for lunch will be baked in the early morning using the ovens that the food truck will have or be installed. Each menu option will be made with the freshest ingredients and the highest quality avoiding all together deep fried food. Local companies will be a focus but not an end all in choices made such on drinks, produce and more. To succeed, starting out costs may encourage some out of area purchases.

To complete and maximize the food truck potential, after providing both brunch and lunch, the plan is to advance to evening catering. By the advancement into catering a new menu will be prepared and which will increase the overall success of the food truck. The catering will be advertisement to new consumers and bring more potential interest in the services provided, it is a maximized profit potential of a single truck. This goal is to be reach after getting started and improving the quality of the service during brunch and lunch so the once achieving a strong foundation of Matz Lunch and Brunch, to then move on the advancing the company to a profit maximizing evening catering.

The menu will be more decided as this progresses the food will include: Lunch: sandwiches/ salads /soups with the freshest ingredients, freshly baked bread and homemade soup ( bread types would possibly be Kaiser bun or Focaccia bread with a glutin free option available)

Menu as a work in progress;

Lunch- I. Smoked BBQ Chicken Sandwich (Homemade Smoked BBQ sauce, Grilled Chicken, Lettuce, Mayo, Red onions, Havarti cheese on Kaiser or Focaccia bread

Lunch -II. Smoked Turkey Sandwich ( Homemade Caesar Dressing, Smoked Turkey, Lettuce, tomato and Havarti Cheese on Kaiser or Focaccia bread.

Lunch -III Caprese Salad Sandwich ( Basil, mozzarella, tomatoes marinated in garlic, salt, pepper & olive oil on Kaiser or Focaccia bread

Each Sandwich will be sold with the option of a Caesar Salad , Tossed Salad or Soup of the day

With brunch: pancakes / waffles / parfaits/ and much more. Expect hot and cold beverages from start to finish.
