Dear Good People

My name is Samuel Lumu. I was born in Uganda but I am now based in Johannesburg. I started an organisation named Lumu Community Based Organisation in Nansana, Uganda late this year. To tell you the truth people are appreciating the little that we do in our community. However the reality is we do not have sponsors yet since the organisation is still brand new. We have limited resources at the moment therefore our organisation can only cater for 140 vulnerable and disadvantaged children.

In Nansana, Uganda there is poverty in the district and is manifested in the following indicators: Slums and informal settlements, Inability to access basic services, High level of vulnerability, Inability to access basic needs of life, crime, violence and insecurity. High food prices leading to malnutrition, tenants occupying substandard residences and homelessness including street children. These areas have poor sanitation, inadequate housing, contaminated drinking water sources, poorly managed human excreta and solid waste disposal, water pollution and reduction in ecological services.

For the sake of the children I started this organisation by donating jerry tanks, sanitary pads, stationery and food parcels out of my own pocket. I do not have enough money to sustain the programme therefore the organisation depends on sponsorship and funds from outside. Our organisation truly believe that you will provide your valuable support to this program. We are doing this for a good purpose and due to this we need your active participation. We look forward to an affirmative response of sponsorship from you to make this project successful. You can help by donating any of the following:

1. Clothes, 2. Toiletries including sanitary pads, 3. Stationery, 4. Food (tin) and 5. Money

Please feel free to call/email us for more information about the program.

Kind regards

Samuel Lumu

Project Director

Hello World,

My name is Brina I am 9 years old next to me is my sister her name is Bronia she is eight. We go to the same school. Our father passed away and our mother moved away since she remarried. Our grandmother is stating with us. She is old and cannot do much. We help our granny with house chores because she sick. She is not working and her husband passed away a long time ago. We are really struggling to put food on the table. Sometimes we go door to door begging for food. We do not know what we will do without her. She tells us every day that education is important. At school we work hard because our granny cannot help us with homework as she is not educated. My sister wants to be a fashion designer one day because she loves clothes but I want to be a scientist I love science.

"I have no words to express my gratitude and feelings. Where this program has pulled me from, it is only God who knows. It is unbelievable! It is like a dream, a big dream. The program has put food on our table. The program has covered our nakedness. The program has boosted our self-esteem. The program has shielded us from immorality and social evils. The program has put a smile on my face. Thank you Lumu Community Based Organisation donors. Thank you.”

Dear……..

It is with great pleasure that I offer your organization a great opportunity to become a valuable sponsor of Christmas goods for underprivileged and orphaned children in Nansana village, Wakiso District. We plan to raise enough funds to feed about 140 underprivileged children as well as to give them a cheerful Christmas this year. Most of these children do not know about Christmas let alone its value which is about family and time for sharing. Please help us make this program memorable and everlasting for these beautiful souls. Let us rekindle the spirit of Christmas in Uganda. Thus we request you to sponsor our program. We really need your sponsorship in any of the following:

1. Clothes

2. Toys

3. Food

4. Toiletries.

We truly believe that you will provide your valuable support to this program. We are doing this for a good purpose and due to this we need your active participation. We look forward to an affirmative response of sponsorship from you to make this event successful. Please feel free to call/email us for more information about the program.

Sincerely Yours

Samuel Lumu
