Campaign Story
One of the scariest things a parent can hear is that their child has cancer. Unfortunately on Aug 29, 2020, we got this exact news. Our son Luke was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a form of cancer that attacks the cells that form the bones. Osteosarcoma will impact the things Luke holds most dear: his mobility, his hair, his energy, and most of all his family.
Our HMO has been maxed out and the savings we have are now being depleted with the continuous tests he needs. Luke's doctors are planning to treat him via chemotherapy and extracorporeal irradiation. Surgery alone will cost us more than a million peso.
We have a long road ahead of us. A tough fight but we truly believe that he can overcome this. We will take any help that you would like to give, whether that is monetary, with your time, or by a simple share of this page. Thank you so very much for the support.

Update posted by Arvin Garlitos at 05:14 amAnd we are officially done with Cycle One! Luke did great for his final methotrexate dose. This has been the shortest stay we've ever had. He said he feels better than before and is getting used to the multiple IV insertions so we may postpone and eventually cancel his portacath

He will be getting this again next week - which means, we may be staying in the hospital for three straight. . . . .
Day 5 - Chemo Cycle 1
Update posted by Arvin Garlitos at 04:02 pm9/5/2020Luke is done with his first dose of Cisplatin. His onco doctors have given him meds to counter the side effects including vomiting and nausea.
