Luke’s 50k Trail Run to help save Sai Kung Stray Friends

Hello,

My name is Luke Prior, I am 16 years old and I am aiming to run my first 50KM trail run, the Hong Kong trail, to help support and raise money for the amazing charity Sai Kung Stray Friends.

Having volunteered there and seen the fantastic work that they do, a recent news article which revealed that Sai Kung Stray Friends is again struggling financially and may have to close, made me want to help.

Sai Kung Stray Friends is a charity which hosts around 130 rescue dogs. They rescue dogs who are found either on the street or are being very poorly treated and then they take these dogs to their facility and give them a caring place to live, with the hope of finding them a forever home.

The dogs at Sai Kung Stray friends are fed daily, have a large space to run around and have fun in, and are lovingly cared for by the fantastic hard working volunteers there, not to mention being provided with the medical care so many of them need. This all costs a lot of money and they need help!

Over the past few months I have been training to do this 50km run and hope to complete the Hong Kong trail in a good time. I have never done a big run before so I am new to this whole thing. I will be running for the lovely dogs I’ve been walking and hope to raise as much money for them as possible to help keep this organisation afloat as what they do is incredible. I will be doing this run on Sunday 16th May.
