Campaign Story
Hey Guys,
Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page. In June, I will be taking part in the GBI cycle from Budapest to Munich (Distance 650km). I would very much appreciate your support in helping me to raise funds for the National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street.
Please read a few words about the charity that I have chosen to support below. You can donate using the "donate" button below via credit, debit card or paypal. You can be assured that your transaction on the Go Get Funding website is very secure. Any donation no matter how small is hugely appreciated.
Many thanks in advance for your support,
Luke
The NMH Foundation was established in 2012 by Dr. Rhona Mahony, Master. Our aim is to support the work carried out at The National Maternity Hospital Holles Street.
Our initial program phase will focus on our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which cares for the youngest in our state. Our appeals include:
-
- Purchasing vital equipment for the neonatal unit
- The much-needed upgrading and refurbishment of the neonatal unit
- The funding of research and education staff posts to continue to support clinical excellence
The Foundation has so far been successful in the purchase of a specialised ultrasound machine for the Neonatal Unit. Our focus now is to raise funds for the hospital's first MRI scanner. This MRI scanner will offer a major advance in the diagnosis and treatment of critically ill newborn infants.
Since its establishment in 1894, the National Maternity Hospital Holles Street has become a key tertiary referral centre and looks after mothers and infants from all over Ireland. As Ireland’s largest maternity hospital, one in eight babies in Ireland is born every year at NMH Holles Street. The hospital has over 9,000 admissions each year with 1,500 admissions to the Neonatal Unit. We hope that ongoing funding will ensure we continue to practice 21st century cutting-edge medicine, and improve the lives of our youngest and their families.
This year the GBI participants from Ireland will support the NMH Foundation with their raised funds.
