Campaign Story
February 28, 2017 EDIT: Little Lucky has been discharged already! Since some people are inquiring about this expired fundraising campaign, I have extended the campaign period in the hopes that we would get some help in settling her bill at the vet. I have edited the pictures to add the list of our expenses (which got rather high because we had to leave Lucky confined at the vet for several days due to her contagious condition).
Old campaign description follows:
Lucky was one of the many animals under the care of a homeless woman who did her best to feed and shelter all of them. She had very little resources for herself and yet she found time to fetch water and warm it up in order to give her dogs a bath. All the cats and dogs were secured with strings to keep them safe from the busy road. She said she cooked food for all of them except when it rains, and they all just had to stay inside her pedicab or under one tarpaulin.
She found Lucky and her sibling as abandoned puppies and knew they were too young to survive on their own. While I was speaking to the kind lady, she cradled Lucky in her arms and said that the tiny puppy had not eaten in two days - Lucky wouldn't even drink the sugared water that she usually gave her pets when they got sick. Lucky looked very weak then and so I took her to the vet where she tested positive for parvovirus - a contagious and possibly fatal viral infection with no direct cure. All vets can do is provide support until the patient fights off the virus. After a rough start, where she had a very high fever and just vomited food that was force-fed into her, it seems that Lucky is starting to respond well to medications.
The treatment will take a few days and the boarding expenses for a contagious disease like parvo is higher than the regular rates. It is clear that the loving owner has done everything she could for Lucky. We;d like to give Lucky a better chance at life (looking for an adopter as well). Please help us save this beautiful puppy. She is currently confined at The Pet Project, which can be reached at (+632) 571 9350 for inquiries or confirmation on her case.
