Lucas’s Cochlear Implant

Firstly I would like to thank you for your time.Lucas is a 19 months old baby with permanent and irreversible hearing loss.Due to is medical history of birth asphyxia.This means that the brain and other vital organs has not received enough oxygen after or during birth.Due to this asphyxia ,when Lucas was 4 days old he had 5 apnea attacks in less then 10 min .Witch means he stopped breathing 5 times and was revived trough the grace of God.Unfortunately apnea and asphyxia can cause server long term damage and in Lucas's case he survived trough a storm of medical difficulties but could not recover his hearing.Lucas's hearing ability only starts at a 100 decibels,where the normal persons starts hearing between 0-15 decibels.The best hearing aids in South-Africa may not improve his hearing loss by full potential therefor he needs to go for a cochlear Implant to help him live a normal life.Not only will this give him a chance to speak but to hear mommy and daddy voice for the first time in his life and help him to get enough balance to walk.I sincerely appreciate all the funds we can raise to help Lucas get this amazing operation!
