Low rate micro-lending to the Poor

I want to start a project instead of just donating to the poor, we can fund their businesses and advice them on how to optimize on their profits. It is the best way and helps improve their livelihood rather than just lending for profit. We have already started a project where we advice small business people and farmers on how to maximize on returns and the main problem has been the high rated banks charge on loans. When these small businesses thrive, they also employ other poor people.
