This proposed pilot random controlled trial (RCT) will attempt to determine the effectiveness of high dosage of intravenous vitamin c against treatment of cancer along with conventional treatment that includes surgery, use of radiation therapy and chemotherapy. The trial will be conducted among cancer patients aged 30-65 years at the Oncology department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSSMMU) in Bangladesh. It is expected that high dosage of vitamin C will reduce number of tumour cells, increase survival of the cancer patients, improve quality of life and reduce pain. If successful, this trial will be conducted on a large scale on various types of cancer patients in future.

  • Scientifically-backed low-cost low-toxicity therapies such as high-dose Vitamin C have a huge potential to benefit those suffering from cancer in developing countries. There are mechanisms whereby high-dose Vitamin C can cause cancer cell death, thereby giving the patient a chance of slowing down the cancer or putting it into remission. Please see: "Targeting cancer vulnerabilities with high-dose vitamin C, Nature Reviews Cancer, 2019" To determine the benefits of Vitamin C in Bangladesh, Prof Mohammad Hasnat and I are raising funds to run this pilot trial. We are aiming for $50,000. We highly appreciate anything you can contribute.
