Lovesky’s Medical Treatment

Update posted by Nicole Hinanay On Jan 21, 2020

Last January 20, Lovesky is still confined in the hospital but he’s doing better now. The Vets sent us the photo below of Lovesky undergoing blood tests to check if he has infection. The test result yielded negative of infection. However, we’re confirming Lovesky’s blood chem works because his WBC STD is not in the normal range. We’re still waiting for the Vets update and order for discharge.

Thank you everyone for all the love and support for Lovesky. We’re grateful for all the support that we received.

The campaign is still up to accept donations to help Lovesky go home.

Today we received Lovesky's running bill. The total running balance of Lovesky is PHP 159,119.2. Tita was able to deposit PHP 44,241.80 as Lovesky's down payment. There is still an outstanding balance of PHP 114,877.4 The bill will still increase because Lovesky is still confined and there is no discharge orders yet from the Vet as his surgical wounds are still healing.

His medical bill could be viewed in full here:

We still have a long way to go to help Lovesky pay his medical bills. Any form of help would be greatly appreciated. Please help us help Lovesky go home and live a normal and happy life.

Last January 15, the Vets sent us the videos to show that Lovesky can now walk after his surgery and after resting for two days. He's stronger now but there is still no discharge order for Lovesky because his surgical wounds need to heal first. He's still under observation. We're grateful for all the support and prayers for Lovesky. Let's continue to help this good boy go home and live a normal and happy life like before despite the accident. :)

Last January 13, 2020, the Vets amputated the lower portion of Lovesky's mouth because there's no blood circulation and keeping it in tact would only cause him pain. It's hard for us to accept that it needs to be done because we really wanted Lovesky to be like how he was before the incident. We were very anxious as well before the operation because he was in a very weak state due to the pain caused by his mouth.

The operation was successful. The Vets told us that Lovesky has good vital signs and his organs are strong, especially his heart. Lovesky is now recovering in the hospital. He's still weak because of the medicine administered during the operation and post operation. The Vets need to observe Lovesky first and give him medical care to recover from the operation. This can take days to weeks depending on his rate of recovery.

Opting for amputation, Lovesky would need to get used to how his mouth would feel. He will need supervision for the first two months post operation as he can only eat soft diet and also extra care because he would be more prone to infection due to the his mouth being open. This is a con that our family decided to take for Lovesky to have another chance in life. The Vets told us that some dogs undergo amputation and some of them survived it and lived long lives. We're hoping and positively thinking that Lovesky could be one of them.

January 14, 2020, Tita visited Lovesky in the hospital. He is still weak but he looks better as compared to his post operation status. My Tita could see him fighting even if he's still in pain and is still very weak.

Let's continue to support and pray for this little fighter! Thank you for all the support and prayers for Lovesky. We appreciate it very much. :)
