Love for my Nanay Emily

Hi, I am Chloe Anne Cunanan, the granddaughter of Nanay Emily. She is a mother of three, and a grandmother to four. We are part of the deceased orphaned family. She loves and eager to take care of her grandchildren when she was alive. But, what we love the most about Nanay is her home-made Filipino dishes that is very delectable and make us feel very homey. Reminiscing these precious and rare moments make us miss her a lot, including the bonding, family gatherings, happy and sad moments together.

Around October 2018, we brought Nanay to the ICU due to mild stroke, pneumonia, and infected spinal cord that led her to a major operation. She also undergone series of operations before including the removal of her gallbladder. These complications were due to her longtime dreaded disease, which is diabetes.

Since we could not keep up with the rates and soaring medical bills at the hospital, we decided to transfer her to another hospital that is a bit inexpensive than the first one last November 2018. We thought that she was getting better considering that she already stayed in a private room, and we expected her to come home last December but she had another cardiac arrest. The doctors revived her and we were advised to transfer her again to the ICU. It lasted for almost 2 months due to her need of oxygen as she was recuperating and having difficulty in breathing.

As of the 22nd of March, she was staying at a private room and recovering from her bed sores and other complications.

But suddenly last May 18 around 4:34 in the afternoon she passed away.

To be frank, we still have not yet settled the full amount of 1M worth of her medical bills in the first hospital she stayed in. On top of that, we still have to pay the incremental expenses in her former hospital (where she passed away) amounting to 3M. It requires a huge amount of money to pay all of these bills. We, as part of her immediate family, does not have enough resources to earn and to pay for these hospital bills.

Due to the unpaid hospital bill, Nanay Emily's death certificate was not yet released to us, which is a big hindrance for us not to send to her with proper burial rites.

We created this platform to raise funds to be of help suffice our family's need in order to pay for Nanay Emily's hospital bills. We are hoping and knocking from your good and generous heart if you can help us by sharing this story, and seek good people who are willing to donate. Any amount given, we will truly be appreciated.
