He fcNLast August 15, my brother became unconscious after his dinner, vomiting the food he took.He was rushed to the nearby public hospital for first-aid.When I arrived at the hospital, he was soaked in his own urine and feces. He also vomited blood the time I arrived there. We were advised to bring him to a hospital with an ICU facility.Upon arrival at the second hospital (the first one doesn't have an available ICU facility), he was immediately assesed by the ER doctor and basis clinical picture, he suffered brain hemorrhage and blood clotting. We stayed in the hospital to monitor his situation and to know the results of the tests conducted.CT Scan was done early morning of Wednesday and the assessment of the doctor was confirmed by the test.He needs to be transferred to the ICU facility but bill already shoot up to Php 88,000+ within few hours upon arrival at the hospital. We were thinking more about his welfare than the bill piling up.Hence, he was transferred to the ICU facility.By Thursday morning I was able to talk to his attending physician and he informed me that aside from the hemorrhage and blood clot, water/fluid has penetrated his brain already with fear of the same entering his lungs.I was told that he needs to be endorsed to a neuro-surgeon and pulmonologist. However, there's no guarantee that the operation will be successful and if ever it will be, my brother will be in vegetative state.I spoke with my mom and other siblings regarding it and we've decided to forego the endorsement to both specialist and repeat of his CT scan since his condition os already deteriorating.By Friday, hospital bill has reached Php 189,000++. We were on top of the financial assistance we have requested from our local official so we can bring home my brother so that all family members can still see him and be with him. However, the medical document we've requested a day prior wasn't available yet so we decided to transfer him a regular room instead to manage the hospital bill.He was transferred to a regular room, hooked on oxygen since mechanical ventilator was removed already. His partner and I was able to care for him since Saturday.I prayed and heard mass with him on Sunday.I saw how the suffering of my brother and how painful it is to see him that way so I called my elder sister to say goodbye to him since she's the only one who hasn'r done that.Few minutes after the video call and arrival of my brother's son, he breathe his last breath. The hospital allowed us to have my brother's body be embalmed and be prepared for viewing so we contacted the local funeral parlor. We brought him the the viewing chapel near my Dad's grave since my brother lives in a small house near the lake which would be challenging for our relatives and friends to visit hime there. The wake was held from Aug.20 Sunday 11PM until Aug.26 Saturday past 6PM.We were able to settle the fee for the chapel and we some left for the cremation (part will be on promissory note). His social security benefit includes burial assistance which we will pay to the funeral parlor like what was previously discussed with the owner which we are still hoping he will honor. However, the owner and his auditor insisted that we either pay 75% or pay in full before they release my brother's body for cremation. They said that they will keep my brother's cadaver until such time we have the funds to pay them. This added more to the burden of the hospital bill.

I love my brother and I will do everything to bring him home to the Lord. His body is still in the funeral parlor for 7 days now since we are still short for the funds we need to pay the funeral home. He suffered in the hospital already and it pains us more to know that he is just in the corner of the stockroom...without lights, candles nor visitors. Regarding our application for financial assistance, it only covered Php 50,000.

Please help us laid my brother to rest and pay his remaining hospital bill since his partner works as seasonal vegetable vendor and my brother is a commission-basis truck driver. My siblings and I are trying our best to pool the needed funds. Please help us...
