A Security Guard’s Love for His Family (mom and siblings)

With the help of a good friend who knows how to use the English language, I was able to translate my story.

I am a security guard from the Philippines. My father was killed by an unknown person when I was in grade school. Because my mom became the provider of our family when our father died, my mom went abroad to work as a helper. Me and my younger siblings were left to the care of our extended family members. I was unlucky to be physically and emotionally abused (with trauma until now) by my aunt and uncle when I was growing up. My mother sends my aunt money for us but we almost never got anything because our aunt spends it wrongly. Even the goods that my mom sends were never or almost never reached us. When my mother came back, I was quite big already.

Even if I have not graduated high school yet, I had to work already for our family. As a young boy, I tried working in different construction company and carry gravels and sands. There were times every rainy season that I have to swim on the river to get floating branches of trees which I can use to make fire and make our meals.

I am now 22 years old and is working as a security guard far away from my family. My older brother from another mother helped me to come to the capital of the country to work and help my family.

My siblings from my mother are mostly in the province with our aging mom. My father has been dead for more than 10 years and even before our father died, our house has been old and was not fixed. Our house is trying to stand still despite of strong storms. However, from the province, my mother called last December and said that we really need to reconstruct our house very soon or else it might fall down due to strong rain or winds.

I hope you can help us reconstruct our house to make sure that my family members will have a safe place to live in especially for my 2 more younger siblings who are still in grade school. I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP because I barely meet my family's monthly needs. I am glad that there are people around me in the capital who sometimes lends me money if I cannot really make it for the month.
