I am Irene Joy Felipe and a resident of Taguig City, Philippines. An ex-OFW (Overseas Filipino worker). I worked in one of the hotel on Saipan, CNMI -- a US territory. When this pandemic was on it's peak, that made the world to slow down and stopped any incoming and outgoing flights in the island, I received my furloughed letter and that was around end of March until there was an available flight again that sent me back home. Yes, I am jobless even now that I am here in the Philippines, well I tried to apply and I cannot even remember how many online applications I sent. I think anyone can relate. Right?
I have a place to stay (thanks to my Uncle), clothes to wear, appliances and utensils to use, we have electricity, water and WI-FI.
Why I am telling all of that????
It is because I am still lucky and blessed even I am jobless for so many months. Thanks to God for all His LOVE, CARE and provisions. I wanted to give thanks to the Lord by doing this. I want to help as long as I can but this is all I can do right now. Thanks again for the electricity and Wifi.
Consecutive typhoons passed through the Philippines in less than a month. Typhoon Rolly (Goni) and typhoon Ulysses (Vamco), are those that left great damaged physically, financially and emotionally to a lot of Filipinos' in the provinces and some cities.
During typhoon Ulysses , a lot of my kababayan (countrymen) suffered in distress, wet and cold embracing the strong winds while sitting on their roofs over the night, worried about their family members, afraid of their lives, asking for help and rescue as the water was rising and submerged their houses. With only few items that they were able to saved, all other belongings was left submerged in the flood and covered with mud.
I am trying to do a "GO FUND ME" for the typhoon victims specifically those from Phase 1B Kasiglahan Village, Rodriguez (Montalban), Rizal. But since "go fund me" is not supported in my country which is the Philippines. I just posted my fundraising on my facebook account and I am so glad and grateful that a close friend and a mentor from my Church in Saipan, CNMI suggested this site.
I am planning to give a bag of goods (rice, canned goods, noodles, eggs, bread, crackers, coffee, powdered milk, soap, shampoo and some clothes and blankets from the donation that I will be able to receive.
When I have enough amount to buy the goods, I will post some pictures here and on my facebook account for the updates to let you know of the status.
I already raised some money and in-kind goods through my facebook. You can check my post at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=yojener...
My first batch of distribution will be by next week at least before December.
ANY HELP WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED 💝
Thank you and God bless.
Spread LOVE and CARE.
2 Corinthians 9:7
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
