Campaign Story
One of our dearest friends, Myles, is in need of our help. Her loving husband Omar, who’s also like a brother to us all was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 or End Stage Renal Disease last August of 2020. We put up this fund raiser to help in the medical bills and to also give financial support in their preparation for a Kidney transplant.
Omar was diagnosed with Stage 3 CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) last 2016, this kidney disorder then escalated when he was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy Type 4 in 2017. IgA nephropathy (IgAN), also known as Berger's disease, is a kidney disease that occurs when IgA deposits build up in the kidneys, causing inflammation that damages kidney tissues. IgA is an antibody—a protein made by the immune system to protect the body from foreign substances such as bacteria or viruses.
Last August 29, 2020 he was asked to undergo Emergency Dialysis and he has gone through so many sessions since then. Omar is required to have Hemodialysis thrice a week. Not only is he facing this illness but recently, a suspected complication developed when he suffered blindness in his right eye. This has made it more challenging for him to go about his daily routine and has added up to the couple’s medical expenses and financial obligations – all amidst this pandemic! Myles has been very supportive and has been Omar’s source of strength but his treatment will involve nutrition, exercise, prescribed medications, detoxification and address the underlying problem and heal his body from inside and out. However, instead of just managing his symptoms and disease and covering up with constant medicines, the couple has decided to push through with the kidney transplant and we are with them in this journey of Omar’s healing!
We want to see this anime fan and Arnis black belter see more of the world. Let him take more photos of their travels and his wife’s IG worthy pictures in the future - as well as adopt more cats and bring them to their warm and lovely home! We’re knocking on your generous hearts to help us raise P250,000.00 for Omar’s treatment and medical bills. Your contribution will be very much appreciated. I believe that God is bigger and greater and above all this He can do anything… “I will restore you to health and heal your wounds. Declares the Lord” Jeremiah 30:17
