Campaign Story
Hi
I am a 33 year old man from Leeds who has recently left my place of employment due to a heart defect. I was rushed into hospital at 2 am one morning with a suspected heart attack, It turned out to be a condition called A-Fib and is a stress/weight related illness which can cause a stroke and in some circumstances death.
My employer advised me that due to my medical condition I am unfit for work and pressured me into leaving. I suffer from depression and anxiety and sleep apnoea which is a contributing factor towards my heart condition and due to the A-Fib condition and all the pressure I decided to leave for the good of my health.
Now I am unemployed and have spiralling debts and I am struggling to get through the days due to stress and anxiety of all the issues that are hanging over my head. I am looking for work even though I am not really in a condition to work but i have no other option. Been out off work is tressfull and causing me great health issues however returning to work instantly would also put me at great risk so I am kind of in a catch 22 situation both of which will have a sever inpact on my health.
My condition is also weight related and i am trying to lose weight via slimming world (see videos) and i am trying to do everything I can to improve my quality of life and hopefully get rid of my condition. However I have had to quit the gym and I am struggling to pay £5 a week group fee as well as the other debts/bills I have run up just trying to get through life.
£6,000 will clear all my remaining debts and allow me a couple of months to recuperate. I do feel a bit awkward about doing this however I really don't have a choice having sold most of my possessions and entering an IVA agreement with an insolvency practitioner.
