Lost Income due to Pregnancy, Single Mom Expecting Twin

I just found out that I'm pregnant with twins, little identical twin girls who will be born in November 2014. While these babies are a blessing, the financial strain that this pregnancy will cause is overwhelming.  I have always worked as a waitress and now I am not permitted to work any job that requires me to lift or stand and I will be on complete bed rest for a minimum of two months, so in a couple of days I have received two huge shocks:  I am now an unemployed single mom of an 8 month old, I'm having twins, and I have no income.

I currently receive no government assistance.  Due to the sudden onset of this issue, I have applied for governmental assistance but that will take a while to kick in (assuming it's approved), and then it won't be enough to cover rent, utilities, and non-food incidental expenses, such as toilet paper and soap.  

I have a plan.  I went to college for graphic design, but have no actual work experience in that industry.  At this point, 18 weeks into my twin pregnancy, I am so obviously pregnant that finding outside employment would be impossible.

My plan is to purchase a computer and graphic design software so that I may go into business for myself, which will allow me to work at home while on bed rest.  Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to purchase either the computer nor the software, as every penny I can scrape together goes to rent and utilities. I have an Etsy shop and I sell on Ebay, but these endeavors do not provide sufficient funds to cover my household expenses, much less the purchase of a computer. I am not asking for a handout.  I am asking for assistance in becoming self sufficient while adhering to the medical necessities of keeping my twin babies safely in the womb.

Please help me realize my dream of becoming a professional, self employed, self-sufficient graphic designer.  This route will help me so much, as I will be able to work while adhering to the doctor's requirements and also be able to work once the twins are born.  As any mom knows, child care expenses for three infants is astronomical, so this plan would allow me to save that expense, as well.
