Lost all on fire

I have had heartbreaking news today and I'm positively devastated. Those who know me well, know the unbreakable bond I have with my grandparents, both of whom I've lost in recent years and it is still something that profoundly affects me on a regular basis. Losing them was like losing the very air I breathe.

Today, we lost their house. As fire ravaged the vestiges of my most cherished and happiest memories of what was always the central grounding point of my soul, I can hardly breathe...the air is gone again. Losing that house, was like losing them all over again.

My family home is also the home of the Jamnesia Surf Camp. The birthplace of surfing in Jamaica and home to The Wilmot family of surfers. My Uncle and Aunt have lost everything, My cousin who also lived in the upper portion of the house with his wife and three young kids have lost everything

they have opened their home to surfers internationally, and various artists. Music and the spoken word has a place. The family has been a driving force in the neighbourhood. This house was built by my grandparents, who were canadians who have left a historical legacy on the island which my uncle and his family has been carrying on. you can see information on the following links below, or by searching google to see their contributions to empowering women, giving a home to surfing, working with their community.
