Hola! I'm Jenny Noble, and along with my husband Rob and son Jake we are creating a community of learning and sharing called, Los Jardines (pronounced Los Har-DEEN-ez). Here's more about it!

Los Jardines will be a threefold, self-sustaining eco-friendly and family friendly center in the heart of the Guanacaste region in beautiful Costa Rica. At the forefront of Los Jardines will be our food production and education center where we will use the growing method of aquaponics to provide free nutritious, chemical free food to low income and poverty-stricken families. We will partner with local organizations to distribute food to those in need. We will also offer free classes to locals so they too can learn how to grow their own food using aquaponics. Our motto is “Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man about aquaponics, and he’ll have fish and salad for a lifetime!”

Now, what makes Los Jardines different is truly outstanding! Translated from Spanish, Los Jardines means The Gardens. We have purchased over 30 acres of unimproved land close to the town of Portogulpe, Costa Rica. Within our center will be 8 lovely cabins located in a beautiful garden setting, that once built, will provide continually financial support for the food production system. Anyone can come and stay at Los Jardines and see first hand what we do. Visitors can take free classes alongside locals to learn about aquaponics. They can tour our facilities to see how it all works, or they can simply enjoy a vacation in one of the most beautiful countries on the earth feeling good knowing their money is helping to feed the world.

This campaign is to raise funds to complete phase 1 of Los Jardines. Here's a breakdown of phase 1:

  • Plant and create a safe and appropriate environment for a Sloth Sanctuary
  • Build large aquaponics production - purchase seeds & fish stock, build grow houses and water system
  • Build 8 vacation rentals and pool area

You can 'Like' us on Facebook, and Follow us on Instagram, or check back here to stay up-to-date with the progress of Los Jardines, and we hope you will join us on our adventure! Thanks!
