PLEASE READ OUR UPDATE!!! THE CITY WHICH CAUSED THE DAMAGE REFUSES TO HELP US AT ALL!!! A warehouse used to store inventory for our online business of 30 years was flooded due to "Negligence" on the part of the City, the water ran all weekend and destroyed our entire business inventory, which was our source of income. We are heartbroken. Susan and I thought at this time of life we could relax a bit and enjoy life with a business of thirty years we've worked so hard for. Not so. Everything has been swept away from us and the insurance company is doing everything they can to not cover even a portion of our losses.

My wife of 35 years has been very ill and can't work outside the home (the photo of us is from better times). Due to the stress of losing everything, she has now had a total emotional breakdown and is heavily medicated. The stress has affected my heart condition and at this point I can't afford my heart medication. The insurance company for the city didn't even bother to send an adjuster to look at the damage despite promises and have denied the first claim against them for payment for the damage. They have 5 billion dollars in the bank and are hoping we will fold and go away so they can pay nothing even if we have lost everything.

I have spent 7 months of full time work cleaning up and documenting the loss. I am required to submit an Engineers report with the next insurance claim to show "Negligence" on the part of the City but I don't have the funds to hire an engineer to write the report. (WE ARE RUNNING INTO A DEADLINE TO SUBMIT THE CLAIM). I may also have to hire an attorney also to help with the claim. I have spent any savings we had on costs associated with the cleanup. We are behind on all of our bills, out home is in jeopardy and we cannot proceed forward without the Engineers report.

With the escalating mental and physical health issues (and cost), due to the on-going distress this is causing, in losing our possessions, income and stability we are quickly losing all hope. We want to believe that with your help we can overcome this problem we are dealing with.

In advance, our heartfelt thanks for anything you can do financially and/or getting the word to others. ANY HELP NO MATTER HOW SMALL WOULD BE SO APPRECIATED. Help from an expert in municipal water systems would be of great benefit also. We will keep you updated here, as to our progress.
