Lori’s Leukaemia Journey (APL)

In April 2019 I was diagnosed with APL leukemia. Due to me being seriously ill my husband, had to decline a work contract to look after our children while I was hospitalized. Darren is a ALS paramedic and do contract work all over the world. Since then he has struggled to find a contract again but have been able to work a few locum positions.

Unfortunately we had to upgrade my medical plan due to that previous plan that was inadequate to provide me the medical cover that I needed. That meant the monthly installment went up more than double per month.

We are bombarded with medical accounts for co payments for doctors and pharmacy accounts. The medical aid is paid until November 2019 and we are doing this fundraising to have the funds available to pay the medical aid for the months coming and helping us with paying medical bills.
