I'm a single Dad and Army veteran. During my most recent VA doctor appointment, they found signs of a brain tumor (to add with all my other medical issues). Our family is very close, but have not told anyone about my condition. Since my life may quickly change, I am determined to take my now 17 year old daughter on a trip to Hawaii, that I have been promising her since she was 10 years old. I am limited physically, but did do some odd jobs for my landlord, and in exchange she is letting us stay at her place in Hawaii. I took all my money from savings, and was able to purchase two one way airline tickets to get there. The trip is planned for April 18 - 28, 2019. Since I will be going in for more tests and treatment. The possibility of extended unplanned hospital stays is real. So I chose to act fast, even though I will have to have her out of school.
The $3900 is to be used for purchasing a return flight to Seattle for us. Food and vehicle rental, and money for buying some exciting adventures everyone that goes to Hawaii likes doing.
My emergency plan if all else fails is to sell my car. It's 12 years old but may be able to cover the trip. But would not be helpful without it when we return.
