In just over 2 weeks, two friends and I are cycling to Paris from London. It's a c.300 mile trip which we will be doing over 4 days.
We are doing this for cancer research. As many of you know, my dear sister in law, Kate, is living with pancreatic cancer. She is under the care of a fantastic team of oncologists at the Royal Free hospital in London. She's receiving treatment and thanks to this, her amazing attitude and diet, she is keeping well. We pray this continues for many more years.
The mother of a close of friend of mine, Monica Choudhury, has also been fighting Cancer (a form of Ovarian Cancer) for some time. She is an incredibly strong person who, alongside the love and support of her only child, my dear friend Jack Wahab, is researching a number of forms of treatment to help keep her condition at bay.
We would really appreciate your kindness in helping us to raise some funds for both causes. Your donations will go to the Royal Free Neuroendocrine Tumour Research Unit and to support the ongoing medical treatment for Monica.
Our cycle venture to Paris will commence on Tuesday 18 August. Our first day will take us down to Dover, which will be our first overnight stop. From here we will be catching the ferry to Calais and continuing our journey on French terrain where the journey will take 3 further days. We are not doing this as part of an organised charity ride (it is just the 3 of us), so will have no support vehicle and will be carrying all of our gear with us.
A huge thank you to everyone for reading this. Any donations will be very gratefully received! Look forward to telling you all of our stories when we get back.
