Rescue efforts are underway after a powerful 7, 5,4 and 6,2 magnitude earthquake struck Lombok-Indonesia on 5-9 August 2018, killing at least 387 people, injuring more than 1,033 and leaving 270,168 homeless. There was moderate damage in Lombok, while the majority of the damage occurred in villages throughout the affected districts. Initial relief and humanitarian assistance is largely complete, but the process of rebuilding and recovery, which will likely take years, is just beginning.
I have set up this Disaster Emergency Fund Raising Appeal to help those people who are affected by this earthquake. Priority for the urgent needs would be assessed locally in coordination with the local organisations and other relief agencies. All donations for this appeal will be spent on the earthquake victims only and disseminated directly by our own team members.
