Lola Nena’s Lost Smile coz of Intense Pain due to Gallbladder Stones

Hello everyone,

We would like to knock on your hearts for some kindness for our Lola Nena who is currently admitted since, March 19, due to jaundice (generalized yellowish discoloration of the skin and eyes) secondary to choledocholithiasis (stones obstructing the bile duct) and cholelithiasis (multiple gallbladder stones).

She is due to undergo an ERCP today, March 21. It is an invasive endoscopic procedure in which an instrument will be inserted to clear/remove the stones obstructing the bile duct. ERCP is scheduled supposedly yesterday, March 20, but due to significant bleeding parameters, rescheduled today. Afterwhich, a second procedure of cholecystectomy will be done (no specific date yet). It is a procedure in which the gallbladder will be totally removed since it is already filled up/overflowing with multiple stones.

Abovementioned procedures would cost our family a lot. Not only the procedures but also the longer stay in the hospital due to other co-morbids of my Lola. She also has atrial fibrillation, Parkinsons and hypertension, vertigo.

The past three years had been already tough for us. She was first admitted in UERM year 2016 due to hypertension and vertigo, which started to cost us her monthly maintenance of medicine and regular visits to her doctors.

Then in 2017, she was re-admitted due to cases of new onset atrial fibrillation, hypovolemic shock, UTI and pneumonia. But monthly maintenance and regular doctor visits are being supplied up to now.

Lola Nena is already 79years old and she's looking forward to her 80th birthday this April. It saddens her that she's experiencing this kind of illness knowing that it's been less than a month before her birthday. Our family loves her a lot, especially all of us her granchildren. She was more hands on in taking care of us when we are still young. She loves all of us. It is painful to realize that she is getting older and weaker. We love her deeply just to let her suffer. We know that this is the least thing that we can do to bring back all the love, care and sacrifices she had done for our family. But we are going out of our funds. All our resources are exhausted that's why we humbly asking for your assistance to help us bring back the lost smile into our Lola Nena's face.
