Please help. We are in dire need of additional funds for Lola Mely's (Emilia Dela Cruz) medical care. Her electrolyte imbalance (sodium & calcium) is making her weak this is aside from the nodules/masses seen in her thyroid & lungs. Ultrasound & x-ray also shows water in her lungs. Her medicines & laboratory tests are put on-hold every time the billing limit is reached. Will have to settle the balance from time to time so that she's given her medical needs on time.
She's been in & out of the hospital since August 21, 2018 initially due to very low critical levels of hemoglobin (Anemia) due to internal bleeding & Hypocalcemia. She had blood transfusions that week & several drips of calcium gluconate to stabilize the levels of her electrolytes. Her CT scan showed normal & bleeding stopped with oral medication. She was released from the hospital (Makati Medical Center) on August 24, 2018 when her hemoglobin & calcium levels reached normal range with clearance from her neurologist & endocrinologist.
Lola Mely was rushed again to the hospital last August 26 when she suddenly had a seizure that didn't stop for almost an hour until she was given 2 doses of diazepam in the emergency room. She was initially advised to be admitted in the ICU due to critically low level of sodium (Hyponatremia) & Hypocalcemia but we refused due to financial constraints. She was admitted in a regular room & in deep sleep for almost 2 days. Lola Mely woke up and started to recuperate with drips of calcium & sodium. She was then again released from the hospital on August 30.
She felt & looks fine at home and frequently talks to us on the first week of September. Then she suddenly looked ill with cough & fever on September 4. Fever was gone on September 5. As my sister & family were scheduled to go home to Cavite the next day, they opted to bring her home and have her checked by her doctor along their way home. Instead of just a simple check-up, she was advised to be admitted in the hospital for another week. On the 3rd day in the hospital, she showed signs of difficulty in breathing. X-ray showed water in her lungs & neck CT scan showed nodules in her neck. Mama Rachel Hospital of Mercy in Cavite advised to have her transferred to a bigger hospital in the metro as her case can no longer be handled there.
Lola Mely was transferred to San Juan De Dios on September 14. Laboratory tests were done. She's at critical level of calcium & magnesium again yesterday. 2 dozes were given in drips. She's scheduled for lungs ultrasound September 17, 2018.
