Make a Christmas gift that will bring about change!
This project is for building and creating a logistic centre at Mucwini, in northern Uganda, that hopefully should be completed by February 2014.
Mucwini is a war-torn zone in northern Uganda. After over 40 years of insurgence and war, the people in this area, are still struggling to recover from the traumatic experiences. The infrastructure in the area is completely destroyed and there is a desperate need in every sense.
Jeremiah Lucas Opira Foundation (JLOF), has started initiatives for the rehabilitation in the war-torn zone. A major challenge in this effort is related to logistic issues.
The main purpose and function of the construction is to save guard medical and food storage. The creation of a logistic centre will also mean that the costs for hiring, transportation and coordination of basic items such as chairs, utensils, tanks for water, and many more will be enormously reduced. This will result in a best and effective use of resources, especially financial and human capital. The long-term purpose at the logistic centre is that it will be able to respond to “crisis” in the area such as during periods of draught and famine.
The logistic centre will be a much-needed facility dedicated for our operations.
