#LiverForBabyEmjan

Emjan celebrated his first birthday in May. Since then, he's been in and out of the hospital due to health complications. Just this week, his stomach blew up and the doctor found water in his liver. It wasn't infected, but his mother was informed that he would have to be taken to the hospital every month to get a liver dialysis, which would be very difficult for both the infant and his family. Another alternative would be to get a liver transplant.

His grandmother, our beloved yaya Tes, is the one supporting her family back home. She is the sweetest, most hardworking woman, but she's getting frailer as she's growing older. Within the span of a year, she had lost her eldest son and her mother. Her family has yet to recover from the funeral expenses of her mother. The light in her eyes had dimmed and I often catch her staring into nothingness. She throws herself into her work just so she doesn't think about the people she had lost. She still tries to see the brighter side on things, joking she would be perfect on Tulfo or MMK.

Ate Tes' daughter and the mother of the sick child, Marj-z, is part of a group that had been financially supporting Emjan's hospital expenses but the aid isn't enough to cover for the transplant. The operation itself would cost Php1.2M.

Baby Emjan is currently confined at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu.

Please donate what you can to help baby Emjan get a new liver and a second chance at a healthy life.
