From my liver to your heart....

Hello everyone! My name is John Nathan A. Amarilla. I was born on March 8, 2017. I was born healthy weighing 2.6kilos and normal on all of my Newborn screening. I became yellowish on the 3 ^rd day of my life and was gone after one month. However, my eyes became yellowish again on my 6 ^th week. Young as I am, I had to endure all the pain of the needles and go on fasting for not drinking milk for more than 4 hours for the procedures being done to me. I underwent series of laboratory tests, liver biopsy and operation for Biliary Exploration and Cholangiogram. I don’t know what those are. All I know is that it is painful.

On June 7, after my operation, it was confirmed that I have a Biliary Atresia, a fatal liver disease. I do not have bile ducts; hence, the bile inside my liver just stays there which causes my liver to get bigger and deteriorate. The Kasai procedure which is a temporary treatment to Biliary Atresia was not done to me due to absence of tissues in my liver. The only cure left is liver transplant which needs to be done as soon as possible ideally before 1 year old while I’m still healthy.

The cost of the liver transplant is around 4.5 to 5 million pesos. However, my parents aren’t that rich enough to produce that big amount of money to fund my operation. Also, I still have a twin brother whom they still need to take care of; so they cannot give all their money to me.

But I want to live, celebrate more birthdays, play with my twin brother, go to school, enjoy and experience life. Please help me make this happen. Please help me build fund for my liver transplant. Please help me liv e.
