We are creating a a truly UNIQUE- never before seen- anaglyph 3D dance performance with 30' shadows that reach into the audience! Using a non-digital lighting instrument I (re)invented.
We have the honor of performing at the REDCAT NOW festival next WEEK. They have given us the space and support to create this piece that we will tour throughout this year and next.
"Light artist Christine Marie draws the audience into an immersive world dominated by 30- foot tall figures that come to vivid 3-D life in choreography created with ensemble. Viewed through your fashionable 3-D glasses, the exquisite ensemble of performers seems to do the impossible—reach out live—yet Marie uses a non-digital stereo imaging technique she reinvented by drawing on ancient and spellbinding effects, each beautifully revealed."
DANCERS discuss process
A peak inside our last rehearsal!
We're running a very short campaign! I'll upload new video every few days- you'll get to see us IN PROCESS making an amazing show- and audience response!
Risks and challenges
It's extremely important to me that the performers are paid a fair living wage. This is quite rare in the arts. The dancers are receiving nearly $15 an hour for every hour spent working in rehearsal and performance, with the hope of paying them more for future shows. Your funding ensures they are paid on time and that you also agree, artists need a living wage! Additional funds will be spent on : lightbulbs, creating a motorized system for spinning dimensional objects, creation of props, costumes etc.
