Little Thea’s hope for more beautiful things to see.

To my family and friends wondering what we are going through now, am sorry for making you worry but thank you for being with us and sending your sympathy. This is my niece Thea. She’s 1 year and 8 months old, turning 2 on August. She was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma. It’s a rare form of cancer that rapidly develops from the immature cells of a retina. Three weeks ago, my sister noticed that her left pupil was clear and was not the same as her right. They consulted a doctor and found that her left eye was sightless. It was presumed to be a tumor. She was referred to go to Cebu (more than 6 hours away from our province via nautical hi-way) to see an eye specialist and to get second opinion. She underwent MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) to scan the affected area. Results showed that the tumor on her left eye is malignant and the eye itself must be removed as soon as possible to prevent the cancer from spreading to her brain. Her right eye was affected too and will require series of laser treatment to have the tumor removed. However, the chance of saving her right eye is very little. After Enucleation (removal of the eye), she will have to undergo further treatment. I am raising fund to get her operation started asap; with this I want to thank those who spared help for my niece. Big or small, you’re indeed a blessing to her and to our family. 🙏🙌🏻😘 This is one of the roughest time of our lives. 😢I know God will make a way. 🙏 She is too young to be in this situation, it’s just so painful for us to see her bear the pain from all she is about to face. Her innocent mind is clueless that she might not be able to see the beauty of the world and its really heartbreaking. 💔 Blindness will change her life specially now that she’s starting to learn new things- saying the alphabet, and counting from 1-10. If it wasn’t for the struggle, we wouldn’t have the strength. God is always building us when it seems like He’s breaking us. Please keep our faith stronger oh Lord!
