The sad truth
Not many people realise that the captive lion is in distress. Everyone has heard of Canned Lion Hunting, but what about the lions that are living out their days under the care of animal lovers?
The poaching of Rhino and Elephants has now included the poaching of captive lions. These are lions loved by their caretakers. Being used to the contact with humans, they do not see the danger of strange people walking around the cage en feeding them meat. These strangers are not feeding meat out of the goodness of their hearts, they are feeding them poisened meat. Once the lion(s) are down, they cut the fence, kill off the lion if he is not dead yet by stabbing them. Then they cut off the paws and heads. Leaving the body behind for their caretakers to find the next morning and break their hearts.
This cruelty has happened to us here at Bushfellows. As if that wasn't bad enough, their cub of three months old was found hiding in the bushes. Being raised by his parents, he was weary of us humans. But after a few days he realised we were not the bad guys. He is now growing up to be as handsome as his dad and as playfull as his mother was.
Soon enough a female will join him and this is were your help is needed. To protect these two youngsters, we want to improve their security drastically. Security that will cost money. A sacrifice needed to protect the king of the jungle.
Will you help us protect them?
